Meet your Coach

About Beck: Personal Trainer and Somatic Coach

Welcome! I'm Beck (they/them), and I'm thrilled you've found your way here.

My journey with movement and coaching is deeply rooted in the intersections of my lineage, personal, and professional experiences. My ancestors were teachers, gardeners, farmers, laborers, engineers, and artists who immigrated to the US generations ago. I reside in Portland, Oregon, on lands long tended by the Cowlitz people, with my partner Amy and two cats. We’re a part of and supported by a vibrant ecosystem here.

As a working-class, intersex, transgender, neurodivergent, and queer person, I've navigated a lifelong path of self-discovery and healing, moving through challenges like shame, social anxiety, and chronic pain. Movement became my sanctuary, a space where I could connect authentically with my body, the environment, and remember that I am nature.

My journey led me to explore a wide range of practices, from functional fitness to somatics, psychedelic integration, and nature and forest therapy. I even owned a fitness studio here in Portland, Sweet Momentum Fitness. Over time, my focus shifted from achieving specific outcomes to embracing exploration, curiosity, and aging.

But enough about me – let's talk about you. What are your goals? Your dreams? Your challenges?

As a personal trainer and embodiment coach, I’m here to support you as you navigate your own path of discovery. When we work together, it's not just about sets and reps. It's about delving into big questions, exploring the depths of movement, and uncovering the unique strengths and possibilities within you. My goal isn't to mold you into something you're not – it's to empower you to explore, discover, and define your own path to aliveness.

So, what are you waiting for? Book an initial consultation today and let’s get started.

Degrees and Certifications

The studio is sometimes occupied by one of the members of our feline support team. Not a cat person? Bringing a service dog? Let me know during our initial session and I’ll make sure they aren’t around when we’re working together.

  • Get to know Smudge and you’ll find out he loves to cuddle and enjoys learning new skills and tricks. He’s been known for his intuition—he seems to show up at just the right moments. He can take a while to warm up, and usually likes to watch sessions from the loft or a bed above the bookcase.

  • Dr. B is a two year old maine coon rescue. She’s very social and is rarely phased by the new happenings in the studio. She’s got a ton of energy and a 5’ jump. She’s not super into cuddling, but isn’t mean about it. You can find her looking out the window, stalking any bugs that get in, and laying on the loft.
